What If?

David · July 9, 2019 · Leave a Comment

What if you could walk down the block in your neighborhood and have an abundant supply of fruit, nuts, fresh greens, edible flowers, and root vegetables?

What if public parks were also food forests and ecological protection zones?

What if the water that fell from the sky from rain was captured and stored from every rooftop?

What if every rooftop had solar panels or wind turbines?

What if energy storage was in the hands of the people, instead of large corporations?

What if we used our technological to repair the planet, and harness an age of abundance?

What if we restored the purity and drinkability of the great rivers and lakes of the world?

What if 100% of our energy needs were met with abundant, renewable energies?

What if industry realized an economic system that is in line with ecological principles?

What if industry realized that change to regenerative practices is their only future, and our only future?

What if workers everywhere united to demand a living wage?

What if we decided to stop fighting each other and realized that the only way forward is together?

What if we demanded that the power structures in place represent the will of the people, and of the planet or stand aside?

What’s your “what if”?

Trump Tells a Tale in Tulsa

I generally try to keep Trump’s jaw flapping from my ears as much as possible, while still remaining informed, but I felt called to watch his speech in Tulsa yesterday. Highly disturbing narrative he is presenting…also highly compelling and energizing for his base. It looks like he’s taking many pages out of the propaganda books […]

Yeah I Watched the ‘Plandemic’ Movie…

Ok I watched the Plandemic Movie. Not because I think it’s true, but because I thought just maybe, I could possibly learn one thing from it, even if it was just a kernel of information or truth even if it was embedded in a web of misinformation. I thought if it was going to comment […]

Critical Thinking in the Era of COVID

If you only have 5 minutes …forget about this article and read this. Charles puts what I’m trying to say in such a clear and concise way. Charles Eisenstein – The Conspiracy Myth Now, let’s begin The beliefs and values that we hold seem to be very much tied to the people and viewpoints that […]

The Masked Singer – An Exercise in Narcotic Entertainment and Rape Culture?

My housemates watch this show called The Masked Singer. It might be their favorite show and has been on the TV at least 5 hours per week the last several months. I don’t watch TV but I’m always curious what messages it’s putting out and why people like the shows they do. I guess I’m […]

republicans & democrats piss me off

Things that piss me the fuck off about Republican and Democrat ideologies, in no particular order:

REPUBLICANS think maintaining our current economic system is more important than the health of people and planet DEMOCRATS think that we can maintain our current economic system AND take care of people and planet. REPUBLICANS want to legislate on women’s bodies DEMOCRATS are in favor of paternalistic governance and legislation on our bodies REPUBLICANS think […]

Can Ancient Jewish Wisdom Help Illuminate the Coronavirus Crisis?

I’ve been marinating on the traditional Jewish concept of Shmita, as I feel it relates to the current worldwide COVID pandemic situation and potentially holds some wisdom for the times. Shmita (also called the sabbatical year) takes place every 7 years and calls for all agricultural production to stop. Fruits and other foods that grow […]

The Systemic and Immediate Housing Epidemic

We’re at a point where systemic issues are meeting their real-life counterparts. Medical capacity is being tested. Our global financial system is in the midst of one of the great historical resuscitations. Many renters, mortgage-holders, loan-repayers, debtors, small-businesses, and others are wonder how TF they are going to pay their rent at the end of […]

coronavirus sign of the times

Is Coronavirus Impact a Sign of Things to Come?

Most people alive today have not experienced something like this before. As we sit home practicing social distancing trying to “flatten the curve” to save lives and avoid overloading our healthcare systems, every aspect of society seems to have come to a halt. In this unfolding tragedy, overwhelming numbers of people are getting sick, dying, […]

What is Coronavirus Teaching us About Resilience?

Coronavirus is teaching us a lot about resilience, and at the same time showing us the fragility of many of the systems we currently depend on. We are seeing the remarkable resilience of our communities in doing what we need to do to limit the spread of coronavirus. We are seeing the resilience of healthcare […]
